For over 17 years as a human resources, labor relations and employee communications consultant through SuMa Partners, Ltd., Inc.; Marc Goldberg's professional focus has been on helping employers achieve their business goals; by quickly and accurately assessing, and then helping them resolve employment and labor issues; by recommending and implementing changes and communication programs to engage employees to support business objectives.
For more than 5 years he has served as a public arbitrator on client and employment cases for the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Marc has conducted investigations about employee claims including harassment and whistleblowing, prepared employers for labor arbitrations and labor contract negotiations, and was chief spokesperson in labor contract negotiations in corporate positions.
Clients direct or by subcontract include: a telecommunication service provider, a multi-state heavy equipment distributor, a start-up aircraft manufacturer, a cargo airline, an international apparel manufacturer and distributor, an international death services provider, a professional sports team, hospitals, senior living, a parochial day school, a consumer marketing firm, six major public utilities and other service and manufacturing companies.
During over 20 years of corporate experience, including 10 years at the senior management or executive levels of General Electric, Contel Corporation/ Executone, Inc. (VPHR) and Mobile Telecommunication Technologies (VPHR) he supported manufacturing, sales, service, R&D and engineering organizations.
He served on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Compensation Committee of The Singing Machine, a publicly-traded developer and international distributor of consumer-oriented entertainment equipment and music. He also works to improve accountability in the nonprofit sector as an executive volunteer with Nonprofits First of Palm Beach County.
Marc earned a BA in Sociology and a J.D., both at Boston University. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Certified Business Manager (CBM). Marc does not practice law.
